I could not agree more. The love of my life sits in maximum security in DC jail right now, facing 12 years for taking part in a victimless crime. He was selling meth to a friend of his who ended up informing on him. The punishment does not fit the crime. I cant help but think this is the “family values” crowd hating on the rest of us. I don’t believe drugs or drug dealers are evil. They are just trying to make a buck selling drugs to adults who seek them out. If the drugs end up destroying someones life it was a personal decision made by an adult. How many lives are lost to prescription overdoses every year? How many lives are destroyed by alcoholism? Yet we don’t throw the manufacturers of those drugs in prison. The makers of Budweiser and Xantax do quite well in America.
